A Surprise Proposal at Mt. Fuji: A Special Memory for a Couple Visiting from the Philippines

Planning a surprise proposal in another country can be challenging, especially when it’s your first time visiting Japan. As a local Mt. Fuji proposal photographer, I help couples from around the world create unforgettable memories while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Japan.
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful couple from the Philippines who traveled to Japan for their first visit. The groom-to-be planned a surprise proposal for his fiancée, and I was honored to help make this special moment possible.
Planning a Mt. Fuji Surprise Proposal from Abroad
Planning a proposal overseas requires careful preparation. Finding the right location, arranging transportation, and coordinating the timing can be difficult when you are unfamiliar with the area.
Before the big day, we discussed the details and planned the itinerary together. I picked the couple up at Mishima Station and helped make the day as smooth and stress-free as possible, while keeping the proposal itself a surprise.
As a local Mt. Fuji surprise proposal photographer, I understand how important it is to plan ahead while remaining flexible. My goal is to help couples enjoy their special moment without worrying about the logistics.
An Early Morning Photoshoot Near Mt. Fuji
We started early in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere around Mt. Fuji.
Early mornings can be a great choice for a surprise proposal, as popular sightseeing spots around Mt. Fuji and Kawaguchiko can become busy later in the day.
During the session, I focused on capturing both the stunning scenery and the couple’s genuine emotions. For me, proposal photography is about more than beautiful pictures. It is about preserving the excitement, happiness, and love surrounding one of life’s most meaningful moments.
Exploring Oishi Park in Kawaguchiko
After the photoshoot, we visited Oishi Park near Lake Kawaguchi, a popular destination known for its seasonal flowers and views of Mt. Fuji when the weather is clear.
It was a lovely opportunity for the couple to enjoy more of the area’s natural beauty and take additional photos during their Japan trip.
If you are planning a Kawaguchiko photoshoot, Oishi Park is worth considering for its seasonal scenery. I also recommend thinking about the time of day and expected crowds when planning your visit.
Although Mt. Fuji is not always visible due to weather conditions, the lakeside scenery can still provide a beautiful backdrop for your photos.
A Taste of Japan: Discovering a Local Unagi Restaurant
One of the most rewarding parts of being a local photographer is sharing my favorite places with visitors.
After the photoshoot, I recommended a local unagi restaurant serving Japanese grilled eel. The couple later told me that it became one of the best meals of their entire trip to Japan!
I was so happy to hear that they enjoyed the recommendation. Helping visitors from the Philippines and other countries discover the beauty, culture, and food of Japan is one of the things I love about my work.
