Lake Kawaguchi Surprise Proposal Photography / Oct 2025

In October 2025, I had the honor of capturing a beautiful surprise proposal at Lake Kawaguchi, one of the most romantic spots in the Mt. Fuji area.

The lovely couple came all the way from France, and the groom-to-be reached out to me weeks in advance to plan his proposal photoshoot in Japan.

We discussed the perfect timing, the ideal location, and how to make the moment feel natural.

Unfortunately, Mt. Fuji was hidden by clouds that day, but the calm weather and soft autumn light created a warm, intimate atmosphere.

Even without the mountain view, their proposal was truly emotional — and they told me they were very happy with the experience and the photos.

As a Lake Kawaguchi photographer, my goal is always to capture genuine emotions — not just the scenery.

We started the session with relaxed couple portraits by the lakeside, so they could feel comfortable in front of the camera. Then, at the perfect moment, he knelt down and proposed.

Her reaction was full of surprise and joy — and of course, she said “Yes!”

After the proposal, we continued taking photos around the lake, surrounded by the peaceful colors of autumn. Their love, laughter, and natural expressions made every photo special, proving that even without Mt. Fuji, the emotion makes the picture perfect.

I’m deeply grateful to this wonderful couple for trusting me with such an important chapter of their lives.

Being part of this proposal reminded me why I love working as a proposal and engagement photographer in Japan — every story is unique, and every smile tells something beautiful.

Thank you for choosing me as your photographer in Japan.

I hope these photos will always remind you of your unforgettable day at Lake Kawaguchi, and I’d love to see you again someday — maybe for your anniversary photoshoot with Mt. Fuji!
