Surprise Proposal at Mt. Fuji | Lake Kawaguchiko Photoshoot with an Australian Couple

Planning a surprise proposal while traveling overseas can feel complicated—especially when you want everything to be perfect.

This time, I had the pleasure of helping a couple traveling from Australia capture their unforgettable proposal at Lake Kawaguchiko.

Planning a Proposal from Australia

The groom-to-be contacted me while planning their trip from Australia.
He wanted to organize a surprise proposal photoshoot near Mt. Fuji, but wasn’t sure how to make it work in a different country.

From the beginning, we worked closely together through email. I helped him by:

  • Suggesting multiple proposal locations near their hotel
  • Sharing creative ideas for the proposal setup
  • Monitoring the weather forecast and recommending the best timing

One important decision we made was to adjust the schedule to an earlier day to avoid bad weather.
This flexibility made a huge difference.

A Perfect Day at Lake Kawaguchiko

On the day of the proposal, the weather turned out to be absolutely perfect.

With a clear view of Mt. Fuji, he proposed—and I captured the entire moment naturally and discreetly.

Moments like this can’t be repeated, which is why timing and preparation are so important.
Everything came together exactly as planned.

A Stress-Free and Memorable Experience

After the proposal, we continued with a relaxed photoshoot around Lake Kawaguchiko.

The session was smooth, natural, and enjoyable.
My goal is always to create an environment where you can feel comfortable and just enjoy the moment.

Client Review

“Ryoji was amazing at guiding me through locations and ideas in the lead up, and proactively asked me if I wanted to reschedule to a day prior where the weather would be better.
This service and his respectful personality on top of his amazing photography skills made the whole experience one we will be able to remember forever.”
